Reading Council granted planning permission for a new warehouse to be built next to junction 12 on the M4 this month.
Real estate investor McKay Securities plans to demolish an existing chilled storage warehouse at its Theale Logistics Park, when the lease to logistics operator Kuehne & Nagel expires in March 2018.
It will be replaced by either a single 12,449sq m single unit or four smaller units, totalling 10,869sq m, to be built on a speculative basis.
McKay Securities' CEO Simon Perkins said: "The location of Theale Business Park is particularly attractive servicing the metropolitan hub of Reading, while also providing easy access to the rest of the UK’s wider motorway network."
