Leading international directories business Yell, headquartered in Reading, is introducing what it describes as an activity-based working model, supporting the daily operations of its on-the-road consultants.
Under this banner, the company will scrap its 18 satellite offices, opting instead to use Regus’ network of 140 UK business centres, saving £1.5 million in the process.
Simon Taylor, head of property at Yell in the UK, said: "Our field sales teams' use of and reliance upon a physical place of work has significantly changed in the last year due to developing technology and we no longer require our network of sales offices.
"The agreement with Regus provides our sales teams with the resources and specialised facilities of a traditional office environment on an as-needs basis.
"Not only is this far more cost effective, lower risk, flexible and sustainable but will, over time, increase productivity as less time is spent commuting and working in poorly equipped places such as hotels and cafes."
