A law firm in Reading has been nominated as a finalist in two categories for upcoming regional business awards.

Blake Morgan, based in south England and Wales, has been shortlisted for the title of Law Firm of the Year at the Thames Valley Deals Awards 2016, while the firm’s partner Michael Stace, head of the Thames Valley corporate team, has received a nomination for Lawyer of the Year.

The awards, now in their 10th year, attract more than 600 nominations from the regional business community across 13 categories, including private equity firm of the year, management team of the year, bank of the year and deal of the year.

“We are honoured to have been nominated by our clients for the law firm of the year award and pleased that Michael has been recognised as an expert legal advisor in the region,” said Mike Wilson, Blake Morgan regional senior partner for the Thames Valley.

“This shortlisting recognises our dominance in the local market and the considerable volume of deals that we have completed to help drive forward business growth in the Thames Valley.”

Stace added: “The Thames Valley has a thriving business community so it's no surprise that more and more innovative, fast growing companies see the region as the place to do business.

“I've enjoyed working on a number of high profile transactions over the last 12 months and I am grateful that our success and commitment to putting our clients first has been recognised by these nominations.”

The winners will be announced during a dinner at the Royal Berkshire Conference Centre on 21 April.
