Dee Park revamp to start soon

Fri 4 June 2010, 10:17 am

A residents' group has hailed news that work will soon start on the long-awaited Dee Park regeneration as a “monumental day”. (Sourced from Get Reading.)
Last week it was confirmed that plans for the first phase of the multi-million pound project have been finalised.

The milestone marks the culmination of many years of ideas, plans and consultations between the council and residents on how to improve the 1960s estate.

The next few weeks residents will see the first signs of the regeneration scheme begin when The Oak Tree pub in Spey Road is demolished.

Once the demolition is complete, the next stage will be to prepare the ground on the site so 60 new Extra Care flats for older residents can be built.
