A reception for Reading was held at the Thames Valley stand during the London-based property conference, MIPIM UK.
More than 100 property experts visited the stand to find out about opportunities for development and meet with Nigel Horton-Baker, executive director of Reading UK, Councillor Tony Page, deputy leader of Reading Borough Council, also its lead on strategic environment, planning & transport, and Steve Belam, general manager of the Oracle shopping centre and chair of the economic development company for Reading, Reading UK CIC.
The MP Greg Clark, minister for universities and science, also visited the stand.
Horton-Baker said: “MIPIM UK provided Reading UK CIC with a strong platform to promote Reading as a place in which to invest and do business. We were heartened by the levels of interest shown by all areas of the property profession and in particular the enthusiasm for continued investment in both the town centre and wider area, driven by Reading’s strong labour pool, increasingly excellent connections and mature business community.”
