Thames Tower bought for refurb

Reading's empty Thames Tower office building is set to be refurbished after being bought by Brockton Capital and Landid, according to reports.

Previous owners LaSalle Investment Management and the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority had earlier floated plans to demolish the 147,000 sq feet building and replace it with a new scheme with twice as much floorspace, Property Week reported.

However the duo announced last July that the new development plans were being dropped in favour of a refurbishment scheme.

Estates Gazette said Brockton and Landid had paid "around £20 million" for the building and were planning a £100 million revamp.
