Proposals for the £500 million redevelopment of Reading's Station Hill area have been submitted to borough planning officers.

Sackville Developments Reading is seeking outline approval for a five-acre scheme that will see the demolition or alteration of existing structures to provide homes, offices, shops and leisure opportunities, website CoStar reported.

It said the Allies & Morrison-drafted plan proposed 300 homes, and some 900,000 sq feet of offices, shops, and leisure development.

The disused Friars Walk shopping centre would be demolished - as would the Western Tower and its linked buildings, CoStar added.
