Conservative regeneration guru Lord Heseltine has visited the Reading Station redevelopment project and seen for himself the centerpiece of the town's multimillion-pound regeneration.
The author of economic-growth promoting report No Stone Unturned, toured the £850 million-plus project with communities secretary Eric Pickles and financial secretary to the Treasury Greg Clark, the Reading Post reported.
Reading West MP Alok Sharma said former deputy prime minister Lord Heseltine had given his “seal of approval” to the station scheme, which he said would bolster the town’s reputation as an economic powerhouse and “enhance Reading’s attractiveness as an investment destination“.
