Ex-Avenue School site homes plan consultation

Have your say on the councilís proposed plans to build a housing development on the old Avenue Special School site in Whitley.(Sourced from Reading Post.)
Since the school moved to Conwy Close in Tilehurst in September last year, its former home in Northumberland Avenue/Basing-stoke Road had remained empty.

If Reading Borough Council gets the go-ahead it plans to build a number of houses and flats on the site later this year.

Plans also include building an extra care housing complex for older people that allows them to live independently by renting or buying their flat as well as having 24-hour care and support available on site.
