Minister signals full speed ahead for station project

The £851 million Reading Station redevelopment has escaped unscathed from last week’s spending cuts and is closer to getting the £15m needed for finishing touches. (Sourced from Reading Post.)

Transport Minister Theresa Villiers visited Reading to confirm the major project to increase capacity at the station would go ahead as planned.

And last month, transport secretary Phil Hammond revealed he is considering giving full approval to the £15 million Reading Station highways works – but he may not come up with all the cash.
