Row over new reservoir homes bid

Thames Water has submitted a new bid for outline planning permission for almost 100 new homes at a Berkshire reservoir despite local opposition. (Sourced from the BBC)
The water firm wants to sell Reading's Bath Road site to developers once it is no longer needed early next year.

But opponents say the 5.4 acre (2.2 hectare) site, which is covered in vegetation, is a "green lung".

The new application follows a failed bid last year. A decision by Reading council is expected in November.
